We’re excited to launch our puppy socialization classes at Good Dog PDX!
Our first class kicks off Tuesday Feb 10th at 6:30pm with a special intro price of $5 (regularly $30).
Limited to 6 puppies — perfect for safe, structured social time.

Why Socialization?

When dogs are young socialization is important to prevent unwanted behavior towards other dogs when they are older, but here’s the deal. Throwing a pup into a melee of other dogs is not the way to do it.

When you get your pup they have recently been separated from their mom and siblings, they settle into your home, they can’t go out until they’re vaccinated so weeks or months go by and then they meet another dog.

Being suddenly surrounded by an unruly bunch of other pups when they don’t yet speak the language can be intimidating and often ends up being counterproductive. The pup either learns that other dogs are dangerous and scary or they learn that they can easily push around a weaker dog.

At our puppy socialization parties our trainer Casey is on hand at all times to correct any over exuberance as well as gently ease those shyer pups into the fun.
